Meet Meri – The Merry Scientist

Meri is an experienced science communicator and passionate advocate for STEM education. For over 15 years, she taught physics, chemistry, and biology, guiding students of every age and ability — in selective high schools, TAFE, and university. She understands science deeply, and she pairs that knowledge with a natural gift for turning complex ideas into clear, engaging explanations.

Meri holds a Bachelor of Science and Graduate Diploma of Education from the University of Wollongong and a Master's degree in Materials Technology from the University of New South Wales, bringing both academic rigour and real-world curiosity to every show. A confident and engaging speaker, she captures attention, inspires wonder, and makes science feel exciting and accessible.

Beyond the classroom, Meri is a devoted aunty who has taken her family to science shows, planetariums, and museums all over Australia — from hands-on exhibits to immersive space experiences. These adventures fuelled her belief that science should be fun, inspiring, and available to everyone, no matter their background or location.

Now, Meri brings that same passion for learning directly to you — into schools and communities, sparking curiosity in the next generation of explorers, or simply adding a little more wonder to your social group, club, or event.
