Step inside the dome and explore the universe!
The Merry Scientist is bringing the mobile planetarium to Greenwich these October school holidays, with public shows for children, families and adults.
Climb inside the 6-metre inflatable planetarium and experience the night sky all around you. Explore planets, stars and the wonders of space in a fun, interactive session led live by The Merry Scientist.

A fun first adventure into space for our youngest explorers! Discover the planets, meet the Sun and explore our Solar System as we journey through space together inside the planetarium.
Where do stars come from, and what happens when they die? Explore spectacular stellar nurseries, discover how stars change throughout their lives, and find out how they can end as white dwarfs, neutron stars or even black holes.
Spend an afternoon under the stars without waiting for nightfall! Explore the night sky, discover fascinating stars, constellations and deep-space objects, and hear some of the stories and science behind what we see above us.
Good to know
Do adults need a ticket?
Yes. Everyone entering the planetarium dome requires a ticket.
Do children need to be accompanied by an adult?
Yes. For the children's sessions, there must be at least one supervising adult for every five children inside the dome.
What happens during the show?
Unlike a cinema-style planetarium screening, the sessions are presented live and are designed to be interactive. There will be plenty of opportunities to look, wonder, ask questions and explore the night sky together.
What should we bring?
Wear socks. We will take our shoes off before entering the planetarium. All planetarium equipment is provided.
Can we buy tickets at the door?
Pre-booking is recommended as capacity inside the dome is limited and sessions may sell out.
